After the tour de force that was Mass Effect 2, hopes have risen high that Bioware can deliver a similarly brilliant adventure with the final chapter in the series. After all, everything we've seen so far in the Mass Effect series has been working towards a single zenith which is soon to be realised - a galactic-scale battle between the intelligent organisms of the universe and the deadly Reapers. |

Back in September, myself -- Colin Moriarty -- and fellow IGN editor Anthony Gallegos were lucky enough to get hands-on time with Mass Effect 3's new multiplayer features, a first for the acclaimed sci-fi RPG series. Mass Effect 3's multiplayer offering -- at least from what we've seen and played -- consists of special co-op missions that can accommodate up to four players. Waves of enemies are dispatched, similar to Gears of War's Horde Mode, and it's up to your team to survive as you accomplish various cursory tasks. |
